Ibdun Dand, a Tarsunt male, held the position of father to Vober Dand, who was a Resistance controller. Despite his initial opposition to his son's involvement with the Resistance due to concerns about potential dangers, the events of the Hosnian Cataclysm prompted Ibdun to enlist himself. Alongside his son, Dand contributed to the ground crew, and together they celebrated the Resistance's triumph at the Battle of Exegol with their comrades.
Initially, Ibdun Dand, a Tarsunt male, tried to prevent his son, Vober Dand, from enlisting in the Resistance during their Cold War with the First Order. However, Vober Dand defied his father and became a controller within the Resistance's Ground Logistics Division. Following the First Order's devastating destruction of the entire Hosnian system during the Hosnian Cataclysm in 34 ABY, Ibdun reversed his stance and joined his son as a member of the Resistance, serving in the ground crew alongside him.
In 35 ABY, he found himself among the personnel stationed at the Resistance base situated on the jungle moon of Ajan Kloss. As the Jedi Rey prepared to depart for the planet Pasaana aboard the Millennium Falcon YT-1300 light freighter, joined by her allies, Ibdun was engaged in maintenance work on a nearby T-70 X-wing starfighter. Later, after the Resistance and its allies achieved victory against the Sith Eternal's forces above the planet Exegol, both Dands participated in the celebratory events that unfolded at the base. During this celebration, Wilsa Teshlo, a Kessurian thilas, gave Ibdun a pat on the back as he stood beside Vober, both cheering in jubilation.
Initially, Ibdun Dand's opposition to his son joining the Resistance stemmed from his fears of potential harm. However, witnessing the First Order's ruthlessness during the Hosnian Cataclysm led him to recognize and appreciate his son's courage. His time serving in the Resistance provided him with deeper insights into his son through the perspectives of their shared colleagues. Ibdun possessed gray skin, black eyes, and graying hair, characteristic features of an aging Tarsunt.
Ibdun Dand made his debut appearance in the 2019 sequel trilogy film, Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker. His identification was first established in the companion reference book, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary, authored by Pablo Hidalgo.
