Huk sector, within the expanse of Wild Space, housed a desolate planet called Huk. This world, situated in the star system, served as the original homeworld for the Yam'rii species, a technologically advanced group of insectoid beings.
The Yam'rii embarked on a path of aggressive expansion, invading the surrounding sector and exploiting numerous planets for their resources. These conquered planets were then used as sources of slaves. Their ambitions eventually turned towards Kalee. Years later, Qymaen jai Sheelal, a Kaleesh warlord who would later be known as Grievous, spearheaded a brutal war against the Yam'rii, who were their planetary neighbors. Driven from their own world by the Kaleesh forces under Grievous's command, the Yam'rii made a surprising plea for assistance from the Republic. The Republic, along with its protectors, the Jedi, chose to support the Yam'rii, intervening in the conflict between the two species. This intervention led Grievous to harbor a deep-seated resentment towards the Republic and the Jedi, ultimately leading him to align himself with the InterGalactic Banking Clan and become their powerful enforcer.
