Horn Company

During the Clone Wars, a conflict between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Clone Captain Lock and Jedi General Eeth Koth commanded a Grand Army of the Republic clone trooper unit known as Horn Company within the company.

In the year 21 BBY, Horn Company was involved in an attempt to defend the Venator-class Star Destroyer named Steadfast. This defense occurred when General Grievous attacked the vessel near the Arda system, which was situated in the distant Outer Rim Territories. Despite their efforts, the company was unable to halt Grievous's offensive, leading to the majority of the unit evacuating in escape pods. Subsequently, their Jedi General was taken prisoner by the Confederacy.

Description

Horn Company was a company of clone troopers, a component of a battalion within the Grand Army of the Republic. It consisted of four platoons, totaling 144 troopers created through cloning, along with supporting personnel. Eeth Koth, a Jedi General, and Lock, a Clone Captain, jointly led the company.

The clone troopers who comprised Horn Company were recognized by their Phase I clone trooper armor which featured sand green and yellow markings. A yellow emblem depicting a set of horns was displayed on their chests, serving as a visual identifier for the unit. Eeth Koth also had a black version of the Horn Company's symbol painted on the forearms of his Jedi armor. During combat, the company's clone troopers were equipped with DC-15S blaster carbines.

History

Eeth Koth and Horn Company troopers observe Captain Lock and his squad as they attempt to repel invading droid forces.

During the Clone Wars, which occurred in 21 BBY between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Eeth Koth's command ship, the Venator-class Star Destroyer known as the Steadfast, found itself engaged by Separatist forces. These forces were under the leadership of General Grievous, and the encounter took place near the Arda system, situated far within the Outer Rim Territories of the galaxy. After initiating fire on the Steadfast and commencing boarding procedures, Separatist forces infiltrated the star destroyer. A squad from Horn Company, under the command of Captain Lock, engaged invading super battle droids until Jedi Master Eeth Koth ordered them to retreat using escape pods. Lock voiced his objection, warning Eeth Koth about the presence of commando droids. However, Koth dismissed the threat, insisting that Lock and his troopers immediately proceed to the escape pods.

As the droid general advanced toward the Steadfast's bridge, the Zabrak Jedi, along with his remaining troops, were compelled to make a final stand against the cyborg. Grievous, having breached the bridge's blast doors with his lightsabers, mocked the Jedi before dispatching a squad of commando droids to storm the bridge. This resulted in the death of most of Horn Company's defenders, as well as several clone naval officers. Despite managing to defeat the attacking commando droids with the help of a surviving member of Horn Company, Eeth Koth was ultimately overwhelmed by Grievous and his IG-100 MagnaGuards. They entered the room and took Koth hostage after a brief duel.
