Significant remnants of a lost society existed on the planet, notably the Heffrin Aqueducts, which stretched across Heffrin's landmasses; investigations conducted during the Cold War between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire revealed that early Ithorian voyagers were responsible for constructing the Aqueducts.
In the video game Star Wars: The Old Republic, Heffrin is erroneously referenced as the planet Haffrin, which shares a similar name.
