The Hasty Harpy, a YT-1760 class starship, belonged to Lalo Gunn during the era of the Clone Wars. In 22 BBY, the Trade Federation grounded it, along with every other vessel, on the planet Kynachi, effectively marooning Gunn there.
Later, after its retrieval, Gunn volunteered his services to transport the Galactic Republic's Breakout Squad, a group of clone troopers, to Coruscant. During their journey, they received communication from Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, who requested a meeting with a Chiss representative at Defense Force Station Ifpe'a. While evading an assault by the Techno Union, they were pulled into a black hole, from which they subsequently escaped through an ancient Star Temple.
Chancellor Palpatine then contacted them again, instructing them to divert their course to Vaced. On this planet, Nuru Kungurama, a Jedi, engaged in combat with a Death Watch assassin. The Hasty Harpy sustained a direct hit from a missile fired by the assassin's starship, leading to its crash and leaving Gunn stranded on Vaced in search of a replacement vessel.
