Hasti Troujow

Hasti Troujow, a Human female, played a pivotal role in the treasure ship Queen of Ranroon]'s rediscovery in 1 BBY. She and her sister Lanni were orphans who worked various jobs in the Tion Hegemony. A former Imperial Navy officer, Alexsandr Badure, became a father figure to Troujow, caring for the sisters while they were part of an illegal mining operation on Dellalt.

While working, Lanni discovered what appeared to be the Queen of Ranroon's log-recorder. Although she was killed before they could search for the treasure, Hasti and Badure continued the quest in her memory. With the assistance of Ruurian scholar S. V. Skynx and smugglers Chewbacca and Han Solo, the latter of whom Troujow found herself attracted to, they successfully located the ship's hidden riches beneath Dellalt. Subsequently, Troujow and Badure accepted positions with Skynx on the resulting archaeological project.

Biography

Hardscrabble upbringing

Growing up in the Tion Hegemony, Hasti Troujow, a Human female, and her sister Lanni experienced a difficult childhood. Orphaned at a young age, they were forced to fend for themselves. By adulthood, Hasti had held numerous low-paying jobs, such as cleaning, housekeeping, and sanitation work, in various mines, camps, and factories across the Tion. During the Galactic Civil War, the Troujow sisters were employed as contract laborers for an illegal mining operation on the planet Dellalt, which was managed by a crime lord named J'uoch. Camp life was harsh, but the sisters were supported by a fellow worker, Alexsandr "Trooper" Badure, a former officer in the Imperial Navy. The three developed a strong bond and looked out for each other.

Lanni, who had inherited a Pilot's Guild book from their father, often made surface runs for extra money. In 1 BBY, she stumbled upon what seemed to be the log-recorder of the Queen of Ranroon, the legendary lost treasure ship of the ancient galactic tyrant Xim. However, before they could act on this information, J'uoch, who had her own ambitions for Xim's treasure, murdered Lanni. Badure and Hasti narrowly escaped Dellalt with their lives. Despite this, they decided to pursue the treasure, rumored to be incredibly valuable. Troujow intended to use her share, along with her deceased sister's, to purchase land on her homeworld that had once belonged to her parents, where she would care for Badure in his old age, as he was now the most important person in her life.

First, they sought out S. V. Skynx, a respected Ruurian university professor and scholar of pre-Republic history and languages, who could potentially decipher the ancient script on the log-recorder. Then, hoping to find someone with a ship to transport them back to Dellalt and assist in the treasure hunt, Troujow and Badure went to the Rudrig spaceport, monitoring landings and departures for a suitable candidate. Their search ended when Badure recognized an old friend from his Academy days, Han Solo, a Corellian smuggler who was passing through Rudrig after a job in the Tion Hegemony with his Wookiee first mate Chewbacca and droid crewmen Bollux and Blue Max. Despite Troujow's initial reservations about the smugglers, she had little choice when they agreed to take them aboard the Millennium Falcon. They then met with Skynx and set course for Dellalt.

Hunt for the treasure

Upon arriving on Dellalt, nothing unfolded as expected. Lanni had hidden the log-recorder within Xim's treasure vault complex before her death. While Hasti successfully disguised herself as her deceased sister, she couldn't bypass the facility's voice-coder. Upon returning to the Falcon, they discovered that J'uoch and her gang had learned of their presence and brought hired guns. Although unarmed, Troujow was forced to intervene physically in the ensuing firefight to protect Badure, but they were ultimately forced to flee into the wilderness and watch as J'uoch stole the Millennium Falcon. This led to a difficult journey of hundreds of kilometers through the mountains. Troujow faced several perilous situations, including a brawl with a shore gang while trying to cross a large lake inhabited by Dellalt's Swimming People.

After several weeks, their trek seemingly ended at an abandoned shipyard high in the hills. However, closer inspection revealed the ships to be fake, and Troujow and the organic members of the party were soon rendered unconscious by a mysterious gas. When they awoke, they discovered they had been imprisoned by a mysterious group. Bollux and Blue Max, who were allowed to move freely, learned that their captors were an isolated and backwards clan called the Survivors, who planned to sacrifice Troujow and her companions. The droids were instrumental in their escape: Blue Max used his built-in holoprojector to awe and distract the crowd with a video display, giving them a head start as they fled down the mountain ahead of heavy pursuit.

Their escape led them to the foothills below J'uoch's mining camp, where they encountered an unexpected sight: 1,000 war-robots of Xim's ancient Guardian Corps, marching to battle against J'uoch's gang, led by a man Troujow recognized as the assistant steward of the treasure vaults. With the Millennium Falcon still their objective, Troujow and her companions had to navigate an active battlefield, forcing them into the fight as well. Troujow personally disabled a war droid with a disruptor pistol, before confronting J'uoch, the woman who had killed her sister. Consumed by rage, Troujow attacked J'uoch and ultimately overpowered the crime boss, grappling her over the side of a bridge and sending her screaming to her death in the crevasse below. Troujow nearly fell herself, but Badure pulled her back at the last moment.

With the help of Gallandro, a hired gunman with a complicated history with Solo, Troujow and her friends narrowly reached the Millennium Falcon and returned to the treasure vaults after learning from the assistant steward that the Queen of Ranroon's treasure had been stored there all along. After blasting an opening into the treasure vaults with the Falcon's guns, Troujow and Badure stayed behind to guard the ship while Solo, Skynx, and Gallandro went inside. They returned without Gallandro, who had been killed after attempting to betray Solo and Skynx, but having found the treasure. However, they soon realized that the Queen of Ranroon's holdings were almost worthless in terms of money. The ship was filled with war materials, such as kiirium ingots, which were common at the time but had been incredibly valuable in the past.

However, it was still a groundbreaking archaeological discovery that promised to revolutionize the study of pre-Republic history. As one of the leading Xim scholars in the galaxy, Skynx took charge of the site and immediately offered Troujow and Badure positions working with him, promising a potentially rewarding life in academia. They accepted immediately, beginning a new chapter in their lives and parting ways with Han Solo for good.

Personality and traits

Hasti Troujow, a short and slender Human woman with pale skin and red hair, was reserved around most people but fiercely loyal to "Trooper" Badure, who had supported her and her sister during their most difficult times. She saw Badure as a father figure and prioritized his well-being. Initially unimpressed with the smugglers Han Solo and Chewbacca, Troujow was particularly dismissive of Solo at the start of their adventure to Dellalt, but gradually warmed to them.

In fact, Solo and Troujow developed a mutual attraction. When she dressed up to impersonate her sister Lanni, Solo found her to be one of the most attractive women he had ever seen, and Troujow became more interested in Solo when he dropped his smooth-talking persona. However, she still viewed Solo as an unserious charmer who would never settle down and was not interested in pursuing a relationship with him. Despite Solo's initial underestimation of Troujow due to her youth and stature, she was capable and resourceful. Hot-headed yet perceptive in a crisis, Troujow was a skilled groundcar pilot and proved to be highly competent in combat.
