Gungan dunk tank

During the celebrations that occurred on Naboo, the planet, in 32 BBY, one could find a Gungan dunk tank as a form of entertainment. Rugor Nass, the Gungan leader, extended an invitation for individuals to submerge him in the tank filled with water.

Description

The Gungan species from Naboo utilized a Gungan dunk tank at their funfairs. This attraction featured a sizable, transparent tank containing water, with a seat suspended above it via two straps attached to a short horizontal bar. Participants would activate a mechanism by accurately sorting two-legged timas based on their colors and attributes, causing the seat to plunge into the tank, thereby "dunking" the person seated upon it.

History

Following the Battle of Naboo in 32 BBY, a series of celebrations took place in both Theed and Otoh Gunga—the capital cities for the Nabooian Humans and the Gungan people, respectively. Rugor Nass, the Gungan head of state, volunteered to sit above the dunk tank. Upon being successfully dunked, Nass would make exaggerated facial expressions. This attraction was set up within a temporary hydrostatic bubble called the "Dunk Boss Nass Bubble" in Otoh Gunga, and Rugor Nass personally encouraged visitors to participate.

Behind the scenes

The act of dunking Boss Nass was an interactive element in Star Wars: Early Learning Activity Center, a game designed for children and released in 2000 by Lucas Learning. Dunk tanks are real-world amusements, but they typically require the player to hit a target which triggers the seat to drop into the water tank.
