The Grissmath Dynasty, a long-vanished interstellar civilization, held dominion over Meridian and Nam Chorios. These planets were situated within the Meridian sector of the Outer Rim Territories. Back in 750 BBY, the Dynasty of Grissmath banished political dissidents to the desolate, arid world of Nam Chorios, anticipating their demise due to starvation and the planet's unforgiving environment. To thwart any attempts at off-world escape, automated gun emplacements were constructed across the planet. Subsequently, Drochs were unleashed upon the planet in a futile effort to eliminate the incarcerated individuals. The progeny of both the prisoners and their custodians would eventually be referred to as Oldtimers by subsequent inhabitants.
At a time that remains unrecorded, Meridian was transformed into a scorched, radioactive sphere, the consequence of orbital bombardment carried out by unidentified factions. Shortly thereafter, the Grissmath Dynasty met its end, collapsing entirely.
