Gregg Keefer achieved the Gold 4 rank within the Gold Squadron of Decipher, Inc.. He organized and managed the Star Wars Customizable Card Game competitions in which Shawn Valdez participated prior to his passing due to leukemia. In remembrance of Valdez's life, Keefer initiated the Shawn Valdez Memorial tournament soon after.
