Greg Farshtey, often called Gregory Todd Farshtey, worked as an editor and designer at West End Games. His writing credits include The River of God (1992), Hell's Feast (1994), and Demon's Dream (1996), in addition to a substantial body of work related to LEGO properties. Specifically, he penned 29 BIONICLE books, several BIONICLE online serials, 5 BIONICLE guide books, 4 Exo Force novels, and a pair of children's textbooks. Beyond LEGO, he either wrote or co-wrote more than 35 roleplaying game books, and he is also responsible for designing the Shatterzone and Bloodshadows roleplaying universes.
From 2000 until July 2022, he held the position of Editor in Chief at the Community Education Direct section of the LEGO Company. He mentioned exploring unspecified new ventures on his LinkedIn profile as the reason for leaving. In this role, he was responsible for writing the BIONICLE comic strips featured in the LEGO Magazine, published every other month. Following the discontinuation of BIONICLE, he shifted his focus to writing novels based on LEGO Company's Hero Factory and Ninjago themes, and he also provided consulting services for the second generation of BIONICLE, which has since been discontinued.
