Graf Yonna hailed from the planet of Bront and aligned himself with the Rebel Alliance in their fight against the Empire, around the time of 0 BBY.
Around 35 BBY, Graf Yonna was born on the planet of Bront. Witnessing the Galactic Empire's horrific actions, including the destruction of his home and the murder of his family, led to a mental breakdown. He then adopted the persona of Parsol d'Ahndole, a celebrated adventurer and hero from the era of the Galactic Republic.
Joining the ranks of the Alliance to Restore the Republic, he quickly rose to prominence as a key operative. His fearless charges into battle resulted in the salvation of numerous Rebel lives. During a mission on Baes Logia, the Rebels planned to ensnare an Imperial General. However, Yonna's premature arrival led to the general's swift and merciless demise.
The Empire's destruction of his family and home was the catalyst for Yonna's descent into insanity. He manifested an alternate personality patterned after the idealized image of a Republic hero. This persona was characterized by melodramatic tendencies, an extreme aversion to perceived evil, and a compulsion to perform acts of heroism.
Alliance psychologists made attempts to rehabilitate Yonna's original personality, achieving some limited success. When in his 'Graf' state, he was susceptible to bouts of depression, drunkenness, anger, and rage, all directed at the Empire.
Despite his proclivity for recklessly rushing into danger, Yonna's combat skills were not exceptional. While competent in hand-to-hand combat and with a blaster, his remarkable contributions to the Rebels seemed to stem more from sheer luck and the element of surprise than from superior skill or tactical prowess.
Yonna was known to carry a significant amount of weaponry, including a heavy blaster pistol, a light repeating blaster, a sniper rifle equipped with a macrobinocular interface, a hold-out blaster, two thermal detonators, a blast vest, and macrobinoculars with a headstrap for hands-free operation and night vision capabilities.
Chuck Truett conceived the character of Graf Yonna for Cracken's Rebel Operatives, a supplement for the Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game released by West End Games in 1994. Mike Jackson provided the illustration.
