Goggles Mark V

A Wookiee sports Novaless Soni-Optics Goggles Mark V amidst the Galactic Civil War. During the era of the Galactic Civil War, a specific type of mechanical monocle came into existence: Goggles Mark V from Novaless Soni-Optics.

These devices were initially conceived as tools to enhance the effectiveness of Imperial long-range sniper rifles. However, manufacturing difficulties arose, preventing their practical application in combat scenarios. Consequently, their production remained limited.

The few goggles that were created were distributed to individuals present at the celebrations of Empire Day or Remembrance Day, irrespective of their allegiance – whether they were Imperial, Rebel-aligned, or neutral during the Galactic Civil War. These goggles primarily served as a novelty item.

Behind the scenes

The Novaless Soni-Optics Goggles Mark V functioned as an in-game reward within Star Wars Galaxies. Players who utilized the radial menu to observe either the Emperor's statue or Yoda's statue during the Empire Day or Remembrance Day events, respectively, in the game's fifth anniversary year, received these goggles. Their design drew heavily from the Japanese exclusive SE goggles, which, due to a programming error, were occasionally distributed instead. Initially designated as a non-tradeable item, a subsequent update made them tradeable before the game's closure.
