Gholan, a male Devaronian and a criminal, found himself incarcerated within the confines of Belsavis prison amidst the backdrop of the Galactic War. Possessing a degree of training and exhibiting deranged Force-sensitive abilities, Gholan remarkably evaded four attempts on his life by the Galactic Republic, leading the Republic to ultimately confine him on Belsavis. When the Sith Empire launched their invasion of Belsavis, Gholan managed to pilfer the key that unlocked Marshal Ellis Ruger's guard station, rejecting every proposal from the Empire to exchange it. Consequently, Lord Medechas gave orders for Imperial troops to eliminate Gholan and recover the key.
Within Star Wars: The Old Republic, a video game, Gholan makes an appearance on Belsavis. He serves as the objective of the Imperial assignment titled "Fifth Time's the Charm."
