He chose to attend a gathering in the garden of the Kandah estate, which persuaded attendees to advocate for Ansion's entry into the Confederacy of Independent Systems, rather than attending the formal welcome for the Jedi on the planet. Despite this, Volune's allegiance lay with the Republic, and he implored the Jedi to receive additional time to resolve the Alwarich situation. Ultimately, during the vote, he joined the majority of delegates in voting to remain within the Republic.
