Freedi Pamular

Freedi Pamular was a male alien individual originating from the moon known as Narkina 5. He made his living as a fisher, working alongside his sibling, Dewi Pamular. During the year 5 BBY, the pair were engaged in the act of fishing near a lake situated by a quarry when they managed to capture the wanted individuals Cassian Andor and Ruescott Melshi. These fugitives had been attempting to steal the brothers' quadjumper.

Dewi and Freedi had a discussion about whether to hand the prisoners over to the forces of the Galactic Empire. However, they ultimately chose to assist them in their escape. This decision was influenced by the fact that the Empire's prisons had poisoned the local water sources, resulting in the death of the fish that the brothers typically relied on for their livelihood. The brothers came to an understanding to transport Andor and Melshi to the world of Niamos, and they subsequently flew them there using the quadjumper.

Biography

An eventful fishing trip

Dewi (right) and Freedi (left) watched Andor (center left) and Melshi (center right) unsuccessfully try and steal their ship.

Freedi Pamular, a [fisher](/article/fisher] hailing from the moon of Narkina 5, dedicated his days to fishing expeditions alongside his Keredian brother, Dewi Pamular. They would capture edible fish within the quarry pools of the moon. However, their quarry's population experienced a decline and began to die after the water became poisoned due to the prisons erected on Narkina 5 by the Galactic Empire. In 5 BBY, the brothers journeyed to a lake situated within one of the quarries aboard a quadjumper, establishing their equipment and fishing nets along the water's edge.

While the pair were engaged in conversation and tending to their gear, they were unknowingly observed by two human fugitives, Cassian Andor and [Ruescott Melshi](/article/ruescott_melshi], who had managed to escape from one of the Imperial facilities. Driven by the hope of fleeing Narkina 5, the former prisoners made a dash past the brothers towards the parked quadjumper, intending to steal it. However, their attempt was thwarted when they triggered a sensor that deployed sticky netting over them. The brothers, having simply witnessed the humans' capture, chuckled before approaching the ensnared men, who were then reeled in towards them.

No friends of the Empire

Freedi and Dewi worked together on Narkina 5 and decided to help Andor and Melshi escape from the moon.

Dewi made the observation that the Empire was offering a reward of one thousand credits for each prisoner brought back to them. He also lamented the fact that the prisons were contaminating the water, a sentiment with which Freedi consistently agreed as his brother spoke. Melshi and Andor, asserting that they intended no harm to the brothers, pointed out that the Empire was responsible for the death of the fish, not them. Freedi then remarked that the Empire would provide the reward regardless of whether the prisoners were dead or alive, prompting Dewi to chuckle as Freedi extended a blade from his arm.

The prisoners began to plead with the brothers, but Dewi declared that the Empire would not be killing them on that day. Consequently, Freedi used his blade to deactivate the sensor, freeing the humans from the netting. Following Dewi's suggestion that they depart quickly, Andor requested to be taken to the world of Niamos. The brothers consented to fly them there, and the four individuals took off in the quadjumper. They successfully escaped the moon before parting ways upon reaching their destination.

Personality and traits

Freedi was a large alien male with beige skin, possessing robust limbs, black [eyes](/article/eye], and black hair. He was the quieter of the two brothers, who were not related by [blood](/article/blood], and communicated with Dewi in the Narkinian language. Freedi shared his brother's negative feelings towards the Empire, as its prisons had led to the demise of the fish.

Equipment

Freedi had an extendable blade.

Freedi's limbs were equipped with heavy implements, with his right hand being replaced by an extendable blade. These features gave him the appearance of a formidable fighter, but in reality, the blades were primarily used for processing the fish that he and his brother caught. The alien possessed a metal skull plate on the top of his head and wore a brown shawl, beige leggings, a gray belt, a necklace, and black-and-gray sandals. During their fishing trip, Freedi and his brother utilized a range of fishing equipment, a quadjumper, and a sensor capable of launching retractable, sticky netting that appeared organic.
