The Krish-operated entertainment enterprise known as The Franchise reigned supreme as the premier dueling league by the time the Mandalorian Wars began. The Krish were in charge. Swoopdueling was the most well-known dueling sport at that time. The Franchise held exclusive rights to all merchandise and broadcasts related to these duels. In some instances, they even had ownership of the duelists themselves. Their most significant tournaments took place on Jervo's World, a space station owned by Lhosan Industries, featuring numerous battle arenas capable of simulating diverse environments. The Krish Bardron managed the Solo Aerials events on Jervo's World. The Jedi Zayne Carrick, a former member, and Rohlan Dyre, a Mandalorian, once participated in a championship event. The Franchise encountered difficulties when Zayne Carrick revealed that a slaver organization known as the Crucible was the source of many of the combatants. Jervo Thalien, the chairman of Lhosan Industries, attempted to sever the Franchise's ties with the Crucible after the slaving operation was exposed. However, Chantique murdered him, leaving Bardron to await Lhosan's next representative to continue their investment.
Goethar Kleej, a slave duelist provided by the Crucible, was a Franchise player. He was the first to win the Solo Aerials four times in a row, and he was able to escape from the Franchise with Zayne Carrick's assistance. Other well-known duelists included Major Tarrance and the D'qell Sisters. Slaves who performed poorly during combat training were sent back to the Crucible, who would find other uses for them, frequently involving certain death, as seen with those sent to the Sungrazer cooperative.
John Jackson Miller repeatedly used the name The Franchise in his notes on Faraway Press.
