Foamwander City, situated on Dac, stood as a prominent and ancient floating metropolis, its movement a calculated orbit around the Knowledge Bank.
As one of the oldest of the floating cities on Dac, Foamwander City's exterior design bore a resemblance to a Mon Calamari Star Cruiser, while its overall form mirrored that of an iceberg. The upper portion mainly contained entry points and hangar bays, with the primary urban area located beneath the water's surface.
Foamwander City functioned as a significant hub for both trade and industry, ranking among Dac's largest cities. The city's name is primarily linked to the Foamwander Five, who played a pivotal role in organizing the Mon Calamari resistance during the Galactic Civil War, in addition to its economic importance. Cilghal resided there.
Following an attack led by Admiral Natasi Daala, the city experienced considerable damage. However, under the supervision of Admiral Gial Ackbar and his assistant Terpfen, reconstruction efforts were promptly initiated to restore the city.
Foamwander City was one of thousands of impressive, human-made cities found floating on Dac's oceans. These cities, constructed over many years, served as expressions of art and symbolized the Mon Calamari's history and culture, including reminders of the Imperial occupation, regardless of how unpleasant it was for the Mon Calamari.
The city's structure appeared as a collection of smooth, rounded forms, vaguely reminiscent of a coral reef. Sharp angles and flat surfaces were restricted to the network of reinforced watchtowers and communication antennas that extended from the city's top. The rest of the drifting city featured gentle curves and polished surfaces, with a large, dome-shaped structure enclosing the main urban area. Below the city, towers and interconnected structures extended downwards.
The Mon Calamari primarily occupied the upper levels of the city, which featured bright white decor and artistically functional architecture. Small repulsorlift tram lines provided transportation within these areas. Foamwander City was a vital center of Mon Calamari government and played a crucial role in planetary defense. Central Command, located in the city's core, was one of the primary command centers responsible for orbital defense, along with Reef Home City and Coral Depths.
Conversely, the Quarren primarily inhabited the lower, underwater levels. They favored transparisteel in their construction, allowing for views of the underwater environment. These areas were illuminated by dimmer lighting than the Mon Calamari sections, with light reflecting off the walls and multifaceted glowlamps. The waters surrounding the city, between the underwater towers, contained a dense network of nettings, mooring lines, transport tubes, satellite cages, and small submersible vehicles. Further below, Quarren deep-sea mining operations were actively extracting resources from the seabed.
