First Steward signified a rank within the clandestine military force known as the Geroon Remnant, who were themselves a part of the Vagaari. The Vagaari warrior Bearsh possessed this designation in 22 ABY, an honor he kept until his death at the hands of both Jedi Master Luke Skywalker and the one-time Emperor's Hand, Mara Jade Skywalker.
The 2004 book Survivor's Quest, penned by Timothy Zahn, featured a character holding the First Steward title.
