Fire Rings of Fornax

One of the galaxy's remarkable sights was the Fire Rings of Fornax, alternatively called the Five Fire Rings of Fornax. This spectacle involved the planet of Fornax seemingly being circled by five rings composed of intense fire.

History

The rings' existence was due to solar prominences drawn in towards the planet because of its position so close to its parent star. It's recorded that pirates would engage in deadly duels inside the fiery rings, ensuring no combatant could escape without being burned.

Because these rings were a naturally occurring phenomenon, and not the product of intelligent design, Vicendi, the historian, did not include them among the Twenty Wonders of the Galaxy around 10,000 BBY. The Fornax rings side dish takes its name from this specific natural phenomenon.
