Fionna Flannis was a Human woman who made her living as a journalist during the era of the Galactic Civil War.
Employed by Colonial News Nets, Flannis served as a reporter, journeying throughout the Colonies to conduct interviews with high society figures, rising stars in entertainment, and officers of the Imperial forces. She gained notoriety for producing some of the most provocative stories for Colonial News Net. Simultaneously, she operated as an agent for the Alliance to Restore the Republic, engaging with fellow Alliance operatives to share intelligence regarding Rebel and Imperial movements within the Colonies. Unbeknownst to her, Pertaal Shenvehr, a colleague at the same organization, was also a Rebel operative.
Being a Human female, Flannis possessed a sharp intellect. She engaged in superficial conversations until she could confidently ascertain that she was in the presence of an Alliance agent. Characterized by her blond hair and penchant for expensive, fashionable attire, Flannis harbored a secret resentment towards the upper echelons of society. Her clandestine efforts against the Empire stemmed from a desire to humiliate the Imperial elite.
Flannis adorned herself in the latest and most extravagant fashions. She carried a matching purse that cleverly concealed both her reporter's datapad and a hold-out blaster for self-defense. Colonial News provided her with access to a generous 100,000-credit expense account.
Peter M. Schweighofer conceived the character of Fionna Flannis for Cracken's Rebel Operatives, a supplement to the Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game published by West End Games in 1994. Mike Jackson provided the illustration for the character.
