Temple (Binaros)

A layout of the temple. The temple situated on the world of Binaros was erected by a secluded religious group. This group established a settlement on the planet approximately three centuries prior to the Battle of Kal'Shebbol.

Architecture

The temple's entry point was marked by an archway, supported by a pair of substantial, square pillars. The room immediately beyond this entrance spanned dimensions of twenty-five by forty meters. Its walls were adorned with mosaics and pictographs displaying an extraterrestrial design. An elaborate, cathedral-style ceiling graced the chamber. On the floor, two lines of stone benches were positioned on either side of a short, flat altar. At the rear of the chamber, a solitary door provided access to the burial crypt. This crypt contained five sarcophagi, each hexagonal in shape, recessed into the floor. The crypt's walls showcased murals depicting ape-like beings participating in rudimentary activities.

Following the construction of the Imperial Research Station located behind the temple, a concealed doorway leading to the facility was incorporated into the crypt chamber. This door opened to a turbolift, offering a means of entry into the facility.

History

Approximately three centuries before the Battle of Kal'Shebbol, a small cult established a colony on Binaros. They created a small, self-sufficient colony, and the temple was constructed to serve as a place of worship, where the cult could revere their isolated deity.

Around two decades after the colony's founding, a devastating plague decimated the colonists. Over time, the jungle gradually consumed all traces of the colony, with the exception of the temple. However, the exterior of the temple became largely obscured by plant life, rendering it challenging to locate.

During the Galactic Civil War, the forces under the command of Moff Kentor Sarne discovered the temple. Subsequently, a clandestine research facility was built into the hillside behind the ruins. A covert entry point to this facility was established within the crypts.
