A sylop face card
Sylop, which translates to "idiot" in Old Corellian, refers to a specific face card featured in different versions of the card game sabacc.
The sylop is a face card utilized across several variations of sabacc. As mentioned, "Sylop" means "idiot" in the language of Old Corellian.
In the sabacc variant known as Corellian Spike, each deck contains two sylop cards. Similar to the Idiot in standard sabacc, the sylop card has a value of zero.
Kessel Sabacc differs, as each deck only includes a single sylop card. Unlike in Corellian Spike, the sylop assumes the value of another card held by the player, creating what is termed Sylop Sabacc. However, should a player have played the Shift Token, Markdown, in that particular round, the sylop's value would default to zero. A pair of sylops in Kessel Sabacc constitutes Pure Sabacc, recognized as the strongest possible hand in that version of the game.
