The view through a targeting scope To improve the probability of striking distant targets, an electronic instrument known as a targeting scope could be affixed to blasters, blaster rifles, and bowcasters. While scopes were standard on sniper weapons, adding them to other weapons was an expensive upgrade, particularly for superior models. The Mark I, II, III, and IV scopes each offered progressively greater enhancements to precision at extended distances.
