The Republic military base functioned as a military installation under the authority of the Galactic Republic, situated on the planet of Coruscant. Following the Bombing of the Jedi Temple Hangar, both Letta Turmond and Ahsoka Tano were detained within its confines, with the latter accused of causing the death of the former. Concurrently, Whorm Loathsom, Poggle the Lesser, Wat Tambor, along with a tactical droid, were also held as prisoners within the base. Its location was in close proximity to the staging grounds for Venator-class Star Destroyers.
Within the base's walls stood the First Battle Memorial, a substantial slab of Geonosian rock inscribed with the names of all clone troopers who perished during the battle.
The hallways were designed with either a continuous series of double ray shielded segments or a sequence of blast doors for security.
A section of the base closely resembled the Republic Judiciary Central Detention Center. Cell entry was facilitated through two methods: sliding a keycard or pressing a button located outside each cell. To prevent escapes, the cells were equipped with ray shielded doors. The interior of each cell contained a bed along with bowls designated for water and food.
Another area within the prison consisted of a medium-sized circular room. It featured a relatively large computer used for scanning individuals entering the base, a crate containing weapons and communication devices, and a red button to activate the red alert sequence.

The main building was fortified with rapidly firing heavy turbo laser turrets and a series of deflector shields, accompanied by two large projectors positioned directly on the structure.
The First Battle Memorial was erected at the center of the Republic base's plaza, serving as a tribute to the clone troopers who lost their lives in the Battle of Geonosis. The surrounding area featured obelisks adorned with large carvings of clone troopers on each side, as well as flags displaying the colors in galactic roundel that symbolized the Republic.
An airfield outside the prison housed Venator-class Star Destroyers, Juggernauts, and other vessels, along with a refueling station. When Ahsoka Tano made her escape from the prison facility, she ventured onto this airfield in hopes of fleeing the compound. Patrols of clone trooper squads were a common sight on the airfield. The First Battle Memorial was also situated in this area.
A military tribunal courtroom was located within the compound, serving as the venue where the fate of dangerous criminals was decided. The courtroom was a tall room, featuring platforms that extended into its center for the accused, prosecution, and defense. Seating was arranged along the walls for the presiding official, jury, as well as other trial participants and observers.

Due to the bombing at the Jedi Temple being classified as a military matter, Letta Turmond was transferred to this base. Admiral Tarkin communicated that Letta had requested the presence of Ahsoka Tano. While at the base, she was framed by an unknown individual who murdered the prisoner and aided Ahsoka's escape, thereby intensifying the perception of her guilt. Commander Fox, Anakin Skywalker, Captain Rex, ARF trooper "Hound," his massiff Grizzer, and other clones, pursued her as she fled the facility.
After Tano was apprehended, and with suspicions heightened by her proximity to a canister of nanobots, she faced trial within the military base's tribunal courtroom. As her verdict was about to be delivered, Skywalker arrived with Barriss Offee, who confessed to being the true perpetrator.
The base's design was intentionally created to foreshadow the coming Galactic Empire. To that end, in the episode "The Jedi Who Knew Too Much" the clones began to gradually disobey the orders of the Jedi. For example, when Anakin attempted to enter the prison to visit his Padawan, Commander Fox, acting under Tarkin's directives, denied him access.
The base's courtroom, similarly, was designed to emphasize the rise of the Galactic Empire. Production notes also indicate that the cylindrical tubes suspended from the ceiling were intended to evoke similar terminals seen on the Death Star. However, the terminals themselves were repurposed from the engine rooms of Venator-class Star Destroyers.
