Praya, an ocean world situated in the Praya system, could be found in the Clacis sector of the Outer Rim Territories within the galaxy. As of 4.3 ABY, it housed the opulent Sea Castle Resort Hotel. Access to Praya was provided by the Star Tours travel company via their Deluxe Undersea Package.
Praya was initially featured in a Tourscan advertisement at the Star Tours attraction in Tokyo Disneyland, which debuted on July 12, 1989. It was positioned in grid square K-4 by The Essential Atlas Online Companion.
The setting and recorded material were repurposed from the Sea Castle concluding portion of Horizons, a former Epcot attraction that explored the idea of ocean colonization. David Jones, a special effects expert from Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, designed, built, and filmed the models for Horizons' three final sections. The model for the ocean section consisted of two components: a submerged city and a submarine canyon, which were visually connected by a journey through the ocean's pitch-black depths.
