Wroshyr wood was a specific kind of wood that was harvested from the wroshyr trees found on Kashyyyk. This material had multiple uses, including the construction of Auzituck anti-slaver gunships and certain weapons favored by the Wookiees. During the events of the Siege of Lasan, Wookiee soldiers, fighting alongside the Lasats against the forces of the Empire, utilized weapons crafted from wroshyr wood. The curio box belonging to Maz Kanata was assembled from aged wroshyr wood planks. Lina Soh, the Republic Chancellor, had a desk made of wroshyr-wood located on her flagship, the Coruscant Dawn.
The concept of Wroshyr wood initially appeared in the 1991 Star Wars Legends novel Heir to the Empire, penned by Timothy Zahn. Its initial appearance within current canon was in the 2014 young reader novel, The Rebellion Begins, authored by Michael Kogge.
Furthermore, wroshyr wood was featured in the non-canon animated series LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures in the episode titled "Peril on Kashyyyk." Within this episode, the main characters, the Freemakers, a family of scavengers, are tasked with rescuing Tantarra, the son of Chief Attiburra, to acquire a piece of wroshyr wood that Kordi Freemaker requires to settle their outstanding debts and overdue rental payments.
