Standard day
Rey, a scavenger, marks the passage of days on the planet of Jakku.
A standard day or standard-day represented a measurement of time. Like other "standard" measurements of time, this was based on the galactic standard calendar, which was itself based upon the rotation of Coruscant, the galactic capital. Consequently, a standard day was broken down into 24 standard hours, and a standard year consisted of 365 standard days. A standard week was comprised of five days, and these were:
Primeday: This was named in honor of Coruscant Prime, which is the star of Coruscant. Centaxday: Named for Centax-1, the primary moon of the planet. Taungsday: Named to honor the Taung, the planet's ancient inhabitants. Zhellday: Named for the Zhell, another species native to Coruscant. Benduday: Named in honor of the native Dai Bendu order.
A specific moment during a day could be expressed using hours and minutes. When written, hours and minutes were not separated by any character (for example, 1630 would indicate 16 hours and 30 minutes).
The passage of days could also be expressed as the number of rotations. On Oba Diah, Marg Krim allowed Rafa and Trace Martez one rotation to retrieve his missing spice.
