Ksar Ouled Soltane

Ksar-ouled-soltane Ksar Ouled Soltane (in Arabic: قصر أولاد سلطان) is a ksar, specifically a fortified granary, found in the southern region of Tunisia. This ksar is organized with two distinct courtyards, each enclosed by a series of multi-level vaulted granary storage rooms, also known as ghorfas. Reflecting the design of other ksour constructed by North African Berber groups, Ksar Ouled Soltane is strategically positioned atop a hill, providing defense against potential raids in past times.

Today, Ksar Ouled Soltane serves as a tourist attraction, drawing visitors interested in viewing its remarkably preserved granary vaults. It is one of the three ksour located near Tataouine that were used to depict the Slave Quarters Row of Mos Espa in the film Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace, the childhood home of Anakin Skywalker.
