Dretcher, a male Anomid operating as an identity forger, plied his trade during the era of the Galactic War. Back in 3643 BBY, he furnished Tyresius Lokai, a Devaronian con artist, with a duplicate, enabling Lokai to feign his demise and reinvent himself as "Gault Rennow." Gault later alleged that Dretcher attempted extortion and, using Dretcher's persona, defrauded several prominent Nar Shaddaa residents, leading to a bounty being placed on Dretcher. Dretcher managed to conceal himself for years within a cortosis-lined shipping container equipped with life support; however, each time he attempted to emerge under a new identity, Gault sabotaged it. Eventually, in 3630 BBY, Gault orchestrated the delivery of Dretcher's hiding place to Vandin, a gas giant, where he was plotting his next scheme, which necessitated Dretcher's involvement. Despite Dretcher's attempt to eliminate Gault and his ally with battle droids, the droids were destroyed, leaving him no alternative but to accept the job in exchange for Gault finally ceasing his harassment.
The target of their operation was the Gilded Star, a massive treasury ship belonging to the Eternal Empire, concealed deep within the atmosphere of the gas giant. Dretcher's role involved creating a forged identity of High Justice Vaylin for her mother Senya Tirall, who supplied a genetic match and the necessary knowledge of Vaylin's persona. Dretcher's holographic disguise was successful, allowing the team to board the Gilded Star and implant a missile warhead within the vault. This detonated, vaporizing its entire cargo of precious metals, which were then siphoned into a tanker before the team made their escape. Following the successful operation, Hylo Visz, Gault's partner, personally compensated Dretcher for his services, although he harbored resentment toward Gault for the damages he had caused and vowed to dispatch bounty hunters after him.
