Blenjeel, a planet of desert landscapes, was situated in a remote region between Ando and Kothlis, far removed from the primary hyperlanes. The planet was home to immense sand burrowers, creatures that would rapidly rise from beneath the sands to consume any prey they could find. The surface of Blenjeel was largely composed of expansive deserts, notable because the sand had an odd consistency, and was prone to shifting. What appeared to be firm, rocky formations could disappear beneath the sand in short order. These movements were generally blamed on the activity of the sand burrowers.

A merchant transport was assaulted by an Imperial Immobilizer 418 cruiser a decade after the Battle of Endor and subsequently crashed on Blenjeel. Jaden Korr, a Jedi Initiate, was dispatched to look into the incident. His shuttle, however, was struck by a lightning storm during its descent and experienced a crash landing as well. He wasn't able to save the merchants, as the last of them was devoured by a sandworm shortly after Jaden's arrival. However, he managed to evade the indigenous sandworms for a sufficient amount of time to recover the necessary components from the merchant vessel to repair his shuttle. Soon after this event, Blenjeel was officially designated within the New Republic Galactic Database as a hazardous planet, advising against any travel to it.
