In the year 3 BBY, a male Oswaft known as Feytihennasraof held the esteemed position of Elder, one of only three among his species who resided in space. When an Imperial fleet threatened his species, Feytihennasraof collaborated with Lando Calrissian, a Human visitor, in an effort to safeguard the Oswaft within the ThonBoka nebula from Imperial hostility. He commanded a significant contingent of his people, leveraging their innate hyperspace jumping ability to disorient the Imperial fleet, leading them to mistakenly target each other. Tragically, Feytihennasraof met his end when struck by an Electromagnetic torpedo launched by Rokur Gepta, a Sorcerer of Tund.
Feytihennasraof, sometimes called "Fey," was a male representative of the massive Oswaft species that dwelled in space and inhabited the ThonBoka nebula. By the time of the Imperial Era, Feytihennasraof had risen to become one of the three Oswaft Elders, a period marked by considerable upheaval for his people. Around 3 BBY, the Galactic Empire took notice of the relatively unknown Oswaft, perceiving a threat in their natural hyperspace capabilities, despite the Oswaft's peaceful nature and disinterest in events beyond the ThonBoka. Consequently, the Imperials initiated a blockade with the intention of starving the Oswaft into submission. Their potential rescue materialized unexpectedly through Lando Calrissian, a gambler who had befriended a young Oswaft named Lehesu and journeyed to the ThonBoka to assist the Oswaft in outmaneuvering the Empire.
Feytihennasraof, alongside fellow Elder Senwannus'gourkahipaff, summoned Calrissian to the Cave of Elders—the sole man-made structure within the ThonBoka—and was instantly captivated by the visiting Human during a game of sabacc. As they deliberated on strategies to liberate the Oswaft from their perilous predicament, news arrived that Bhoggihalysahonues, another Elder, along with 1,000 other Oswaft, had been killed by the Imperial fleet. With the amassing of their enemies, the Oswaft's situation became critically dire, prompting Calrissian to swiftly devise a plan to aid Feytihennasraof's people. Despite Feytihennasraof's initial moral objections to engaging in combat, Calrissian persuaded the Elder to support a scheme that exploited the Oswaft's inherent hyperspace jumping ability and their capacity to secrete heavy metals, generating misleading images to deceive the Imperial fleet into attacking each other. Leading a force of over one million Oswaft, their ruse initially proved highly effective, inflicting substantial casualties on the Imperials. However, Rokur Gepta, a Sorcerer of Tund seeking to settle a personal score with Calrissian, arrived aboard his flagship Wennis and assaulted the assembled Oswaft with an electromagnetic torpedo, resulting in the deaths of both Elders and numerous others of their kind.
Feytihennasraof embodied many of the characteristics typical of the Oswaft species: he was detached from events beyond the ThonBoka, shielded from the wider galaxy, and lacked understanding of concepts such as armed conflict between sentients or games of chance. For Feytihennasraof, the ThonBoka represented his people's entire universe, the notion of leaving was unthinkable, and the idea of resisting the Imperials who threatened the Oswaft was unconscionable. However, his encounter with Lando Calrissian fundamentally altered Feytihennasraof's perspective. Initially, the Oswaft Elder developed an appreciation for the game of sabacc, finding it to be a source of amusement. Subsequently, Feytihennasraof recognized the necessity of self-preservation in the face of Imperial aggression, agreeing to participate in the fight despite his reservations. With a size exceeding one kilometer in diameter, Feytihennasraof was slightly smaller than his fellow Elder Senwannus'gourkahipaff.
Feytihennasraof made an appearance in Lando Calrissian and the Starcave of ThonBoka, a book penned by L. Neil Smith that was published in 1983.
