Fenelar armor represented a highly prized form of heavy armor that was crafted by the Fenelar race.

Fenelar armor, produced by the Fenelar, was made using a range of unique and rare minerals, including Phrik, which the Fenelar were the pioneers in developing. Due to the nature of these materials, Fenelar armor gained recognition for its substantial defensive capabilities - on par with heavy battle armor - while still allowing for significant flexibility, ease of movement, and a relatively low weight of twenty kilograms. This combination resulted in Fenelar armor feeling and handling more like a medium armor in terms of weight and agility, while still providing all the advantages of a heavier armor type. Beyond its strong protection, the Fenelar armor's bracers incorporated hidden combat knives, and the helmet featured an integrated motion sensor system, audio sensor, comlink, and infrared imager. Fenelar armor was intentionally created to inspire fear in those who beheld it, with each set being intricately engraved; this, along with its well-known history and fearsome reputation, ensured that wearers of the armor were likely to be feared.
The Mandalorian Crusaders brought about the extinction of the Fenelar species sometime between 5,000 and 4000 BBY, which effectively halted the creation of new sets of this highly respected armor. Consequently, Fenelar armor became a rare commodity after the Old Sith Wars, and a sought-after collector's item during the Imperial Era. One such collector was Gallo Memm, a crime lord residing on Vaynai during the era of the Galactic Empire, who possessed a suit of Fenelar armor valued at 55,000 credits, displayed within a transparisteel case at his compound.
The armor known as Fenelar armor was erroneously referred to as Felenar armor in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords. Jason Fry has verified that this was a typographical error.
