Fallanassi

The Fallanassi constituted a religious group with considerable skill in utilizing the Force, which they conceptualized as an expansive ocean. The light side of the Force was known to them as the "White Current," while they called the dark side the "Dark Tide." Through the Force, they possessed the capability to generate illusions or project their likeness, enabling it to manifest anywhere within the galaxy. This particular skill was documented by venerable Jedi masters within the sacred texts, where it was denoted as Similfuturus. Successful execution of this technique necessitated the user's investment of their very life force into the Cosmic Force. Notably, Luke Skywalker employed this technique during the Battle of Crait, affording the Resistance crucial time to evade the pursuing First Order. Luke ultimately sacrificed his life to sustain the projection, subsequently vanishing into the Force.

Production Notes

The initial mention of the Fallanassi in Star Wars canon occurred within the 2018 reference publication Star Wars: The Dark Side, authored by Tricia Barr. The Fallanassi were originally conceived for The Black Fleet Crisis, a Star Wars Legends novel trilogy, wherein they demonstrated analogous projection talents.
