The Exar Kun Wordbearer was a devotee of Exar Kun, deeply entrenched in the dark side and a Force-user whose primary purpose was the veneration of his master.
Before his unwilling transformation into a follower of Exar Kun, the individual known as the Wordbearer was a student at Corellia University, where he studied the histories of both the Jedi and the Sith. It is possible he participated in an archaeological dig on Yavin 4 around 1 ABY, which inadvertently breached the tombs beneath the Temple of Exar Kun, releasing the spirit of the Sith Lord. The malevolent spirit then enslaved the students and researchers, initiating them into the Cult of Exar Kun. Subsequently, Kun's spirit dispatched them to Talus, specifically the Corellia University research outpost from which they originated, with the goal of enslaving the inhabitants. The majority of these enslaved individuals were then transported back to Yavin 4. After communication with the outpost ceased, and fearing the worst, Professor Cornelius Wagglehorn hired a group of mercenaries to investigate Talus. The mercenaries discovered the events that had transpired and relayed the information to the professor. He then provided them with the coordinates of the tomb and urged them to destroy the Sith Lord's spirit within. The Wordbearer was among the dark Force-users who confronted the mercenaries before they could reach Exar Kun's spirit. However, the mercenaries successfully defeated all the former students, and then proceeded to confront the Dark Lord himself.

The Exar Kun Wordbearer appeared as a non-player character within the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game that was developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts. The game was shut down on December 15, 2011. The inclusion of the Exar Kun Wordbearer in the game was part of the "Exar Kun" Heroic Encounter, which was introduced through the "Chapter 9" update released on April 3, 2008.
