Episode I: Qui-Gon Jinn is a single-issue comic book that retells the narrative of Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace. This comic presents the story from the point of view of Qui-Gon Jinn. Ryder Windham penned the comic, Robert Teranishi provided the illustrations, and Dark Horse Comics published it on July 7, 1999. The initial release date was set for June 2, but it was later switched with Episode I: Obi-Wan Kenobi, which then came out on June 2.
Despite being labeled a nonconformist, a Jedi with a tendency to trust his own connection to the Force in all living beings, Qui-Gon Jinn is without a doubt a Jedi Knight of high standing. However, his toughest critic is his own apprentice, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Qui-Gon understands that this is the moment to prove the strength of his beliefs, because the destiny of the galaxy itself depends on him!
