A young Melodie and an Elder On the moon of Yavin 8, the adult members of Melodie society were known as Elders. These individuals were once Changelings who had experienced the Changing Ceremony. Living exclusively in the underwater pools that permeated the mountains of Yavin 8 (the species' habitat), they possessed a mermaid-like appearance, complete with tails and gills.
Elders could emerge from the water briefly to interact with the younger Melodies or deposit eggs. This act of laying eggs necessitated the Elders to physically pull themselves onto land using their arms. However, the most aged Melodies lacked the capability to surface at all.
Among the more well-known Elders were individuals like Gyle, Esla, Aragon, and Lyric.
