A mining complex was left behind in the Dune Sea located on the planet of Tatooine sometime before the Cold War occurred between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire. Because of this abandonment, the insectoid being called the Sand demon was able to reside within it. The Sith Lord known as Praven used the complex to house the operational Shock Drum superweapon; however, a young Jedi Knight managed to disable the device before it made Tatooine's core unstable.
