This system was positioned along the super-hyperroute called the Triellus Trade Route, providing a connection to the Formos system and the Ku'Bakai system in the Calaron sector. During the Galactic Civil War, the Drualkiin system functioned as a significant transfer location for spice, and the smuggling starship named Ill Wind traversed both the Drualkiin and Kessel systems.
The initial mention of the Drualkiin system occurred in The Truce at Bakura Sourcebook, a 1996 publication for West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game. The 2009 reference work, The Essential Atlas, identified its location as grid square T-10.
