Dramassia, situated within the Dramassia system located in the Juvex sector, a section of the Senex-Juvex region found in the Western Reaches area of the Mid Rim, was a heavily populated urban planet. This world was positioned along the hyperlane called the Agarix Trade Route, providing a link to both the Pieldi and Umthyg systems. The material known as Dramassian shimmersilk originated on Dramassia, and was already being found beyond the planet's borders circa 3643 BBY.
Following the settlement of the Senex-Juvex area around 1000 BBY by a group of affluent individuals from the Core Worlds under the leadership of the entrepreneur Thull Vandron, Dramassia evolved into the homeworld of House Halliikeenovich. This house was one of the aristocratic Ancient Houses that ultimately gained control over the region. The planet rose to become a major economic center within the Juvex sector's, producing diverse goods, including silk and mining technology. Nevertheless, the other Ancient Houses regarded Dramassia's economic strength, and the perceived greed of House Halliikeenovich, with some disapproval.
The reference book The Essential Atlas, released in 2009 and written by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry, was the first place Dramassia appeared, locating it within grid square L-18.
