Dorumaa Excavation

The Dorumaa Excavation, an archaeological site of significance, was situated on Dorumaa, a lunar body orbiting the planet Almas within the Cularin system.

This Excavation existed as an island, visible only during the lowest tidal conditions for a brief two-week period annually (a Dorumaa year consisting of 8,784 standard days). Prior to 47 BBY, a research team unearthed what they believed to be inscriptions within the walls of a potentially man-made cave, alongside other evidence suggesting a native, intelligent civilization on the moon prior to the system's colonization.

Subsequently, the Dorumaa Investment Group restricted all civilian access to the Excavation, halted further research endeavors, and constructed a floating platform for landings.

Despite this, the researchers' reports survived. These documents ultimately found their way to Rorkee, a floating city situated above the gas giant Genarius. Seeking to boost tourism, Rorkee decided to construct a replica of the Excavation, based on the available reports. This simulated Dorumaa Excavation opened its doors in 46 BBY and remained operational for at least the next 15 years. By 31 BBY, Sullustan archaeologist Blibbie was employed as a guide at the simulation, though he admitted his inability to decipher the wall markings.

In that same year, operatives from the Usable Resource Location, Recovery, and Development Corporation plotted to abduct their newest recruit, Dr. Shilaea Motacc, intending to coerce her into designing weapons for them. Their plan involved staging a simulated cave-in at the Dorumaa Excavation Simulation. Dr. Motacc, an archaeology enthusiast, had been awarded a vacation package to Rorkee, specifically to visit the Excavation. To minimize casualties, the criminals enlisted Blibbie and several excavation workers. Though the operation initially succeeded, Dr. Motacc was later rescued by independent agents dispatched by U.R.L.R.D. manager Fesvk Wefos.
