Diviner had its base of operations on the Cerebus. Following the Imperial forces' triumph over the Rebel Alliance during the Battle of Hoth in 3 ABY, Admiral Holtz received orders to eliminate the Defiance Task Force. This Rebel fleet's mission was to safeguard the remaining survivors of Hoth. Holtz's strategy involved sending viper probe droids throughout the galaxy to locate the task force. Diviner was among the probe groups assigned to this mission.
In 3 ABY, while the Corrupter Task Force was under attack by two A-wings originating from the Mon Calamari Star Cruiser named Defiance, Diviner was deployed. Ace Azzameen, one of the A-wing pilots, was responsible for the complete destruction of Diviner.
