Dinko (Human)

Dinko was a male Human colonist. During the Galactic Civil War, he resided at Fort Nowhere located on Ruusan.

In 5 ABY, he held the position of third gunner, operating one of the blaster cannon turrets at Fort Nowhere. At this time, both he and Marie Peeno observed an incoming Imperial assault shuttle. This observation confirmed Grif Grawley's prior alerts that the Empire had found the planet. Dinko requested authorization to fire upon the shuttle, but Peeno overruled him, believing the shuttle to be part of a larger force and that the Imperials' intentions were merely to parley.

Shortly thereafter, the Imperials engaged in negotiations with the settlement, falsely promising to leave it undisturbed. While again at the turret with Peeno, he requested to leave early due to a date. Peeno appeared agreeable to his request when an alarm sounded. Dinko asserted that the alarm was not caused by the movement of the indigenous Bouncers, but rather that the Imperials were mounting an attack.

During the subsequent battle of Fort Nowhere, Dinko successfully struck a TIE/LN starfighter, with the resulting debris falling onto Katarn's Hill. He was ultimately killed by Imperial troops.
