Lord Depird ke Fanax, hailing from the planet Adumar, was a Human male pilot of starfighter craft, and a wielder of the blastsword. In the year 13 ABY, ke Fanax received an invitation to a court dinner given by the perator of Cartann, a celebration of the arrival of Red Flight. Red Flight was a team of New Republic pilots who were visiting Cartann as ambassadors. Wedge Antilles, who led Red Flight, requested a demonstration from Cheriss ke Hanadi, the Cartann Ground Champion; ke Fanax then challenged ke Hanadi to a blastsword duel, which was accepted. ke Fanax's motivation stemmed from a desire to avenge his brother, Jeapird ke Fanax, who had died as a result of wounds sustained in a previous duel with ke Hanadi.
Ultimately, ke Fanax was defeated in the duel. As a gesture of honor, ke Hanadi offered Antilles the decision of whether or not ke Fanax should live. Antilles, unwilling to commit a needless act of killing, chose to spare ke Fanax's life.
The character Depird ke Fanax was conceived by Aaron Allston, the author of X-Wing: Starfighters of Adumar, published in 1999. This novel represents the ninth installment in the X-Wing novel series.
