Defensus Solar was a privately owned law enforcement corporation. The Geelan contracted them to uphold the law and keep order on the vessel known as Zirtran's Anchor.
Based out of a cluster of linked warships situated in Sector Beta, a contingent of 100 highly skilled Defensus Solar Security Officers regularly conducted patrols of the space station. Dedicated to their duties, they subjected all newcomers to Zirtran's Anchor to security screenings and identification verification before permitting them access to the station.
They did not intervene in conflicts between different groups and were prohibited from entering "independent zones." These zones were restricted to their owners and those granted permission by the owners. Smugglers and other lawbreakers frequently exploited these independent zones to circumvent Defensus Solar's authority. To combat this, Defensus Solar implemented surprise checkpoints in an effort to apprehend these unauthorized individuals.
