These individuals took part in the Battle of Hoth, assisting in the base's evacuation following its discovery by the Imperial Navy. The medal itself was a straightforward, circular medallion, reminiscent of Hoth, hanging from a white ribbon that narrowed towards the top, adorned with a slender blue line and silver stripes at the borders.
The ribbon awarded for the rack was a horizontal white band, featuring both silver and blue stripes along its borders, and a black starbird positioned centrally. This symbol represented the loss of the Rebel Alliance base, as well as the personnel killed during its defense.
