A male individual, known as Darth Vich, was either of Human ancestry or a Sith pureblood. He held the title of Lord within the ranks of the reconstituted Sith Empire circa 3681 BBY. Vich's rise to prominence occurred early in his life, and he was still considered youthful when the Empire revealed its presence to the wider galaxy, initiating a large-scale conflict against the Galactic Republic. Shortly after the commencement of this war, Darth Vich made a discovery: the planet Rattatak and its bellicose inhabitants. He conscripted hundreds of tribespeople from Rattatak, transforming them into his private military force. Subsequently, he attempted to leverage this army in a bid to seize control within the Empire. This insurrection ultimately failed, resulting in Vich's demise, and the majority of his Rattataki forces were either killed or subjected to slavery.

The person who would later be known as Darth Vich was a male of Human or Sith pureblood heritage. He served the reconstituted Sith Empire during the final years leading up to their war, as the government prepared for conflict with the Galactic Republic. He achieved the rank of Sith Lord at a young age, and later was promoted to Darth, adopting the name Darth Vich. In this role, he served under the Empire's governing Dark Council until at least 3681 BBY. In that year, the Sith revealed their hidden Empire to the larger galaxy, starting the Great Galactic War against the Republic and its allies.
During the initial phase of the twenty-eight-year war, Vich became aware of the harsh planet Rattatak, located in the distant Outer Rim Territories. The Sith Lord was fascinated by its people, the Rattataki, who had evolved into a ferocious warrior society after generations of internal conflicts and struggles for survival on the desolate world. Recognizing their potential, Vich gathered hundreds of Rattataki tribes from the planet and reorganized them into his personal army. These forces proved to be formidable opponents in battle, and he eventually discovered that many of his soldiers possessed sensitivity to the Force. Vich selected the Force-sensitive Rattataki and trained them as Sith Acolytes to serve under his command.
Vich's ambition for greater power within the Empire grew, leading him to use his Rattataki army in a power grab that ultimately failed, resulting in his death at the hands of the Empire. Following this attempt, Vich's army was disbanded, and the surviving Rattataki were either executed or enslaved by the Dark Council. Years later, during the post-war unrest, the Empire began allowing aliens to undergo Sith training alongside Humans and Sith purebloods. Rumors circulated that some Rattataki acolytes had betrayed Vich during his insurrection and were subsequently taken in by the Sith for full training.
Darth Vich was created as part of the historical lore in the setting of the LucasArts and BioWare video game Star Wars: The Old Republic. His existence was first revealed on the game's official site, as part of The Holonet feature. The 2012 reference guide Star Wars: The Old Republic Encyclopedia expanded on Vich, but referred to him only as "the Sith Lord Vich," excluding the Darth title.
