Daniel Mindel

Daniel Mindel is a cinematographer of South African and American nationality who has often collaborated with the directors Ridley Scott, Tony Scott, and J.J. Abrams. Mindel verified on August 22, 2013 that he would be the cinematographer for Abrams on Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens, which was released in 2015. This confirmation occurred the day before the death of Gilbert Taylor, the original cinematographer for Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. He also served as the cinematographer for Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker, released in 2019.
