The Dance of the Worm served as a trial for Salamander Warriors to uphold their reputation. In this challenge, combatants rode lava worms, secured to the saddle with a rope. The worms were then induced into a frenzied state by inhaling fluids from a female worm, rendering them beyond control. The worms would buck, attempting to throw off their riders, who would simultaneously engage in combat using edged weapons, aiming to unseat their adversaries. Contestants could select any bladed weapon they desired, such as lightsabers or vibro-weapons. All combat maneuvers were allowed, with the sole exception of severing the rope that kept riders from plunging into the lava. The last rider remaining on their worm was declared the victor, while the others suffered dishonor.
