Cressis Linrec was the offspring of Governor Linrec, a member of the Imperial government. Her father, Linrec, had planned for Cressis to be married to Moff Raiss. Cressis, harboring a strong dislike for Raiss, chose to elope with Jondrell Inx, a pirate residing in the local area. Inx only pretended to care for her, and his true motive was to sell her to the Zygerrian Slavers Guild unless Linrec paid a significant ransom. Given that Inx's operations were based on Kallistas, Linrec informed Prefect Dengless Rinn, who was subordinate to him, and instructed him to locate his daughter. Rinn, in turn, employed the services of three bounty hunters to assist in finding her.
