Confederate Cruisers were a type of air cruiser utilized by the Confederacy of Independent Systems starting in the initial months of the Clone Wars.
The primary function of the Confederate Cruiser was to serve as an air-to-ground artillery platform. Its cannon was designed to impact a wide area, enabling it to eliminate significant quantities of ground-based enemies, frequently causing heavy losses to clone trooper squads. Furthermore, they demonstrated effectiveness in the destruction of enemy defensive structures and weapon locations.
These cruisers were critical in enabling Sev'rance Tann to overcome the orbital defenses surrounding Sarapin. A Cruiser was deployed once more by Dooku during the events of the Mission to Katanos VII.
